Today, we recognise and celebrate the achievements of all our young budding talents who took part in the A*STAR Talent Search and Singapore Science & Engineering 2017. The A*STAR Talent Search and Singapore Science & Engineering Fair are National Competitions that identify, motivate and accord recognition to students who possess strong aptitudes for scientific research.
These two competitions are for students who have conducted their research over the past years and had successfully showcased their findings. Although discovery through research can be its own reward, such competitions enhance the accomplishment by providing awards and prizes to our most promising young talents.
To kickstart the event, we had the following VIPs join us on stage for the Launch:
1. Professor Chong Tow Chong, Chairman of the ATS 2017 Awards Committee and Provost, SUTD
2. Dr Thomas Liew, Executive Director, National Metrology Center, A*STAR
3. Associate Professor Lim Tit Meng, Chief Executive, Science Centre SIngapore
4. Mr Chia Guo Hao, Senior Assistant Director of Curriculum Planning & Development Division, Science Branch, Ministry of Education
A big congratulations to our group of talented young students who have demonstrated their passion for science and research. Of course this congratulatory message also goes out to their parents and teachers too for always supporting them!
